About Our Principal

For parents, finding the right school in which your child can flourish is one of the most important decisions you will make. At Woodworth Monroe TK-8 School, our mission is to educate the whole child. Our teachers are extremely well-prepared and have high expectations for all students. Our teachers are energetic, enthusiastic, motivated about teaching and learning and are entirely devoted to making learning available to all students.  With our rich programs in academics, the arts (Engaging California Learners Through The Arts and our Musicians at Play), and outdoor education (School Gardens with Children's Institute) as well as physical education and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), Woodworth Monroe offers to educate all students and enable them to become future citizens that will be able to make thoughtful choices and competitively participate in the workforce and society.

High expectations for all students come to life at Woodworth Monroe classrooms, whether that is in our music classrooms, in Language Arts and Math, Science and Social Studies or during physical education.

Now a little bit about myself. I was born and raised in Westchester, California. After high school, I attended Cal State Northridge and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History.  I immediately began teaching at Daniel Freeman Elementary for seven years.  There, I fell in love with Inglewood while teaching fourth and first grade. While teaching, I received my Multiple Subject Credential, Administrative Credential and a Masters in Educational Administration. After receiving my Masters degree, I was hired to be the Assistant Principal at Frank D. Parent school.  I held this position for two years and then became the Principal there for thirteen years.   During those years, we made tremendous progress. After fifteen years at Parent School, I was asked to be the Principal at Worthington Elementary School for three years. I loved my time at Worthington and I was able to lead an amazing staff of teachers and classified employees.

In June 2022, I decided it was time for a change and to take on a new challenge, and after learning about Principal Caldwells resignation, I decided to move to the hidden gem of Inglewood: Woodworth Monroe TK-8 School.

I cannot tell you how happy I am to be at Woodworth Monroe. We have an outstanding group of professionals who are truly dedicated to our children and to teaching and learning. Our parents are vested and involved in our school. We have a phenomenal PTA who is always here to support our children and ensure their success. I am extremely proud to lead Woodworth Monroe to new heights, in academics and in ensuring the socio-emotional well-being of ALL students.  This year in January, Worthington Elementary will be joining our campus.  I am so excited to have all the students, staff and community coming together with our campus. This will also be the beginning of a Dual Immersion program at Woodworth Monroe TK-8.
